Hard Drive Upgrades

Hard drive upgrades are a more time consuming upgrade then most other upgrades and we therefore we recommend our takeaway service.

Although the actual installation of the hard drive is relatively quick, it is the installation of the operating system, drivers and other software that takes time.

During a hard drive upgrade ALL data and software will be lost and a complete reinstall of the operating system will be installed on the new hard drive.

 

Whether you decide to use our takeaway service or have a technician come to your home there are a few important things to be aware of.

  • Ensure you have all software disks for software you want installing on the new hard drive.
  • If you are able, backup all data on your old hard drive before contacting us. We can do this for you but it will take time. It is critical you backup any files you want putting onto you new hard drive to some other media.
  • It is very important you ensure that you have the original operating system disks to reinstall the system on your new hard drive. If you don`t have the original disks you will need to purchase a valid copy, or we can purchase one for you.
  • You must have the original disks for any other software you want installing on your computer.
